LaTonya A. Weston
Ed.S. in Instructional Design & Technology
I received my Specialist degree in Technology & Design in December of 2019 from Keiser University. I received my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2017 from Mercer University. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I am the younger of two sisters. I am also a mommy to two adorable kids. I LOVE them very much!
In 2014 I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood Development from Kaplan University after transferring from Shorter College. I also received an Associates of Arts degree in 2004 in Visual Communications from American Intercontinental University. I have taught Kindergarten for one year in Rockdale County Schools. I am currently a 1st grade teacher. I have over fifteen years experience working for DeKalb County School System assisting students with the education needed for their growth and development. I have six months experience as a Pre-K Paraprofessional, four years experience as a Special Education Paraprofessional and six years as a Special Education Transportation Assistant. In addition, I have over fifteen years of volunteer and substitute experience in childcare and within various school districts and centers across metro Atlanta.
Educating young minds and helping them blossom into well-rounded, respectful, and responsible individuals has always been my passion. I am very nurturing. My greatest strengths include inspiring and motivating young students, and bringing out students creativity. I believe that all students can learn!
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, painting, arts and crafts, collecting totes, family time, spending most of my day in the digital realm, gathering resources, and online shopping.
